Greater Anglia (formerly National Express East Anglia) operates trains across East Anglia, serving Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich, Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Cambridge, Stansted Airport and Bishops Stortford from London's Liverpool Street station. You may travel using split tickets on all of these Greater Anglia train services.
Greater Anglia services from London Liverpool Street run to Norwich every 30 minutes throughout the day, with all trains calling at Ipswich and the vast majority also stopping at Colchester. Intermediate stations at Diss, Stowmarket, Manningtree, Chelmsford, Shenfield and Stratford International are served frequently by these Norwich to London services.
Many other suburban services are operated by Greater Anglia from London Liverpool Street, as well as branch line services throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, to Cromer, Sheringham, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sudbury, Braintree, Harwich Town, and Felixstowe. There's also an hourly Cambridge - Norwich service via Wymondham, Thetford and Ely, and frequent services from Peterborough and Cambridge to Ipswich via Bury St Edmunds.
Greater Anglia services from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport run every 15 minutes calling at Bishops Stortford and Tottenham Hale (for connections to the Victoria London Underground line). There's also an hourly service from Stratford International to Stansted Airport.
Splitting Your Train Tickets on Greater Anglia Railways is allowed and is when you purchase separate tickets for two or more sectors of the Greater Anglia Railways rail route you wish to travel instead of just one more expensive through ticket without affecting your travel options in any way.
For example, if you wanted to travel on Greater Anglia Railways from Station A to Station D, you would expect to buy a ticket direct from A to D. However, you may find it a lot cheaper to buy a ticket from A to B, and another from B to C and still another from C to D for a cheaper combined train ticket price. This is especially true when not all sectors of your journey are during peak time.
So, by buying several tickets that in combination make up your whole Greater Anglia Railways route, you could massively reduce your travel cost and you will still travel on the same Greater Anglia Railways train, at the same time and most probably in the same seat but pay a lot less by using split tickets. This is what split ticketing on Greater Anglia Railways is all about.
You may use split train tickets for travel on all Greater Anglia Railways trains.
