London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has taken over all existing East Coast routes from the now defunct Virgin Trains as of June 24th, 2018.
While this is a change in train operators, customers who currently use the network will not be affected by the switch. All advanced and season tickets and travel vouchers purchased with Virgin Trains East Coast are still valid and train times will run as normal, but with better customer service and punctuality.

LNER Luggage Allowance
LNER allows three items on board per person – a maximum of one small handbag, a carry-on bag and one large suitcase – anything bigger than 80 x 57 x 30cm will get refused. Keep small bags under your seat, and store cabin-style bags in the overhead space above your seat and larger suitcases in luggage racks at the end of the carriage. Pushchairs need to be folded and stored in the designated luggage area. If you’re traveling with a non-folding bike, you’ll need to reserve a space for it before traveling
